Elelelé

Video Dance in homage to the work of the architect and urban planner João da Gama Filgueiras Lima, Lelé. Thus, architecture and movement are keywords behind this hybrid work built from the dialogue between dance, circus, music and audiovisuals. From the cosmovision, thoughts and ideas that one day were transformed into houses, buildings, stations, promenades, churches, among other buildings by the architect were born each element on the film. Script, dynamics, movement and music are connected with Lelé’s architecture, forming a web, a dance, a choreography of images and complementary discourses that seek to reveal to the public his links and memories, as well as the poetry present in each construction and in its relationship with the city.

ELELELÉ was an action of the Architecture and Movement #1 Lelé Project, a project that relates dance, architecturel and visual arts, inspiring choreographers, video makers and professionals linked to architecture to create artistic content, based on the thoughts and works of architects who marked Brazilian architecture. Realized by Sol Movimento da cena/Teatro Vila Velha and awarded in 2021 by the funding Patrocínio Cultural do Conselho de Arquitetura e Urbanismo do Brasil, CAU-BR, for initiatives that expand the social impact of Architecture and Urbanism.

The Project Architecture and Movement #1 Lelé is also composed by the virtual exhibition “ELE LELÉ” with free access through the website.
