In April 2018, the well-known jam session of JAM no MAM became movement within the bodies of the invited dancers on a stage specially prepared for the occasion. Dancers from different generations and experiences celebrated the month dedicated to dance together with the audience, creating a space of simultaneous composition involving the artists, the space and the music.
Each night had two different moments. The first, a group of dancers opened the stage, creating a collective composition during one hour and a half of improvisation. Then we opened the stage for everyone to compose the space together. In “Dança na JAM”, the audience also has the opportunity to take the stage and to contribute to a night of celebration where musicians, audience and dancers improvise together.
Clara García and Claudio Machado are the artists who created and are responsible for the production and coordination of “Dança na JAM”, in collaboration with Huol Criações, producer of JAM no MAM. In addition to these, other dancers/performers participated in these first editions, composing two nights of celebration: Ana Brandão, Clara Trigo, David Barros, Duda dos Anjos, Fabio Vidal, Isis Carla, João Rafael Neto, Marcella Bomba, Márcio Nonato, Patrícia Leitão, Roberto Brito, Tiago Cohen and Grupo X.
