An interactive research process, development of a methodology and experimentation of scenic possibilities that had the whole legacy of Caetano Veloso, in more than 50 years of carreer. The entire professional history and life of one of the most important Brazilian poets, philosophers, musicians and writers served as an inspiration source for more than 100 artists to establish their own creations. The entire process began by 4 workshops, 40-hour each, taught between January and February 2019 by the project’s creative team: Fábio Vidal (Velô in Solos – Physical Theater and Creative Process), Claudio Machado and Jarbas Bittencourt (In-SubVersos – Scene in Transa), Clara Garcia Espada (Unstable Territory – Body in transit), Edson Bastos and Henrique Filho (Voo Audiovisual – Transcendental Cinema). As a result of these workshops, 4 exhibitions were presented in February and also the Dionysian party, USINA VELOSO, a meeting place for all the productions developed with the artists involved in the 4 workshops, defining the end of the first phase of the project.

Parallely to the workshops, several public actions were established, which made all those involved in the process to deepen and generate contact with the work produced by Caetano Veloso. This way, we offered a diverse program, made up of a Film exhibition and documentaries produced by or about Caetano and also 3 conferences “Outras palabras” by academics on the subject: “A biographic journey into Caetano Veloso from 1942 until today” (by Marlon Marcos) + Show Singing Veloso with Sandra Simões and Maurício Azevedo, “Enquanto seu lobo não vem: A Tropicália de Caetano e uma invenção de pais ” (by Carlos Barros) and “Caetano Veloso and Gregório de Mattos: contributions in times ruled by a sad Bay” (by Raúl Moreira).

Along the project, we carried out own rehearsals to develop Velôsidades, but in March we started the 2nd phase of the project, intensifying the realization and development of the show, which end up offering 10 performances at the Vila Velha Theater, between 4 and 14 April 2019.

Our artistic residence (creative studio) was in the Forte do Barbalho, where we lived for 4 months, thanks to the collaboration with Quatro Produções Artísticas.
The project was contemplated by the Gregório de Mattos Foundation and the cultural funds of Salvador city, which made its entire execution possible, we also had the support of the Iberescena 2019 program.
