Claudio Machado is an actor, dancer, director and cultural producer. Graduated in Performing Arts at the Federal University of Bahia and formed in modern and contemporary dance. With more than 20 years of experience in more than 50 productions for the fields theater, dance, performance, music, cinema and visual. He worked as cultural manager in the city of Madre de Deus – BA from 2013 to 2015; and for the State cultural administration, from 2010 to 2013. Founding member of Vilavox theater group where he worked for 14 years (2001 to 2015) in multiple responsibilities on the field of creation, production and project realization, workshops and cultural actions. Together with Jacyan Castilho created Groove Estúdio Teatral (2008) where they explored the relationship between dance, theater and music, and they created A Canoa and A Cela. Twice awarded by the Braskem Theater Prize: best children’s show of 2012 with O Segredo da Arca de Trancoso under his direction; and Best Actor of the year in 2013 for his role in Destinatário Desconhecido. Between 2016 and 2018 he joined antagon TheaterAKTion, as a performer and director, performing in shows of the group’s repertoire at festivals in Europe, Asia and America, as well as directing shows and performances presented in Germany. In 2017, together with Clara Garcia, they created Porto Brasil, a Brazilian artistic and cultural exhibition within the annual program of Sommerwerft Internationales Theater Festival am Fluss in Frankfurt, Germany.
